The Lakes Free Range Egg Co was developed to be a centre of excellence in the packing and supply of eggs to the retail and food service industry.

This had to include standards at least as good as the best others in the industry can offer.

Farms

• Our farm producers have a long history in livestock production mainly from small farms, in many cases going back generations.
• All farms are RSPCA Freedom Foods standard.
• All farms are British Egg Industry Council “Lion” code.
• All our birds rations are approved and authorised by the company, contain no artificial colourants or Genetically Modified materials and are fully traceable.
• All birds are vaccinated against Salmonella Enteritidis and also Salmonella Typhimurium. We were the first company in the country to do this for all our production and are still one of the very few to do so.
• We still believe in the small flock principal as a route to superior animal welfare with our contracted free range flocks having an average flock size of only 7500 birds.
