The Lakes Free Range Egg Co Ltd is proud of its policy to neither produce nor pack cage or barn eggs. All our eggs are Free Range or Organic Free Range.

Our feed has neither artificial colourant or Genetically modified Material included and is from a source we can trace and trust.

We have a clear written and independently audited ethical trading policy and recognise that a key to our success is our staff and farmer egg producers. To ensure highest Quality and Welfare standards all our farms are members of the British Egg Industry Council “Lion” Code and carry the “Little Lion” printed on them as well as all being members of RSPCA Freedom Foods. This is an independent scheme audited by Freedom Foods and the RSPCA ensuring their Five Freedoms Code of practice is followed. The Five Freedoms are:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst
2. Freedom from sickness and disease
3. Freedom from fear and distress
4. freedom from pain and injury
5. freedom to express normal behaviour
